Discover West Lindsey

Not far from Lincoln, you will find the three market towns of Gainsborough, Market Rasen and Caistor, plus a wealth of picturesque villages surrounded by countryside perfect for walking and cycling enthusiasts.

West Lindsey has a rich aviation heritage and RAF Scampton, just outside Lincoln, was home to the famous RAF ‘Red Arrows’ aerobatic team. The famous No. 617 Squadron or ‘Dambuster Squadron’ was once stationed at RAF Scampton and you can learn more about its fascinating history in the West Lindsey Aviation Heritage Trail.

Just outside Lincoln is Burton Waters marina, with lovely shops and restaurants, or drive a little further to Saxilby village, where you can follow the plaques of the heritage trail and enjoy a pub lunch, fish and chips or a speciality ice cream.

You might like to visit historic market towns dating back to the Ancient British, Roman and Viking eras, where you can spend the day visiting heritage centres, shopping or relaxing in the many pubs and eateries.

Or venture further east to the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, perfect for walking, cycling, fishing and horse-riding breaks.
