Spring in Lincoln

With bright sunshine, blossoming trees and seasonal blooms, spring in Lincoln is beautiful. After the long winter months, there’s nothing better than sitting in a park on a sunny day, listening to the bird song. There’s no better time to explore than when the city starts to emerge from hibernation.

With the arrival of spring, comes a fresh programme of new events. You can enjoy blossom walks at Doddington Hall, lamb feeding at Rand Farm and spring pageants at gardens across the county.

As the county bursts into bloom, spring is the perfect opportunity to sample some of Lincolnshire’s homegrown produce. Restaurants across the county will be celebrating spring ingredients, tailoring their menu to showcase the finest food and drink. As the weather is still chilly at this time of the year, you’ll need no excuse to tuck into a good Sunday roast.

When the temperature begins to rise, you can make the most of the spring sunshine by exploring one of Lincoln’s many walking trails, or dig out your bike from the back of the shed and cycle out to the Lincolnshire Wolds. During spring, this beautiful stretch of countryside is full of life, with wildflowers and flourishing trees at every turn. You’ll also spot lots of adorable lambs!

To really blow the winter cobwebs from your mind, continue on to the Lincolnshire Coast. During the colder months you’ll find deserted beaches, stunning skies and the most scenic landscapes. Dogs are welcome at most beaches at this time of the year, so the whole family can enjoy a brisk walk along the coast – just remember to wrap up warm!
