You’re never too far away from a good Sunday roast in Lincoln.

From snug pubs to fancy restaurants, the city boasts an eclectic range of eateries, each putting their own twist on a traditional roast dinner.

Whether you’re recovering from Saturday night, or catching up with friends, a Sunday roast is the perfect way to round off the weekend. If you’re in the mood for some comfort food, we’ve tracked down some of the best places to enjoy a big old roast dinner in Lincoln.

Duke William

Much loved by locals, the Duke William is one of the most popular spots for a roast in Lincoln. With candlelit corners, cosy seating and a roaring log fire, this warm and welcoming pub is the ideal place to snuggle up on a Sunday afternoon. All of the roasts here are served with a generous selection of seasonal veg, along with stuffing balls, Yorkshire puds, and lashings of thick gravy.

To accompany your meal, you can choose from an extensive wine list, or sample one of the Duke’s many local ales. We also recommend leaving room for a dessert - the sticky toffee pudding here is absolutely delish!

Royal William IV

Similar to the Duke, the Royal William IV offers a quintessential roast experience. Packed with history, this lovely listed pub dates back to 1840. Inside, rustic wood, stone walls and low ceilings help to create a warm and cosy space, perfect for hunkering down on a wet and windy Sunday.

Roasts here include British beef, slow roasted pork and butter roasted chicken, all of which come with a Yorkshire pudding, a generous serving of veg, and some excellent roast potatoes. The veggie option is equally as impressive, with a squash, sage and chestnut en-croute on offer for non-meat eaters. If you can squeeze in a pud (or fancy a starter) two courses will set you back just £21.95.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse

If you want a more sophisticated dining experience, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse is the place to be. Located on the 5th floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, this trendy dining spot use only the finest, locally-sourced produce to create their mouth-watering cuisine.

On the menu, you will find roast loin of pork, roast chicken breast, and roast beef. If you can’t decide what to have, you can always order Marco’s Mixed Roast, which features a slice of each. All roast dinners are served with a selection of traditional trimmings, with some tasty little extras thrown in too (year-round pigs in blankets? It’s a yes from us!)

All of the roasts here are served with a selection of seasonal vegetables, along with stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and the most delectable dripping potatoes. If you’re feeling particularly peckish, you can order extras of everything – including gravy!

The Old Bakery

Did you know going for a Sunday roast could also help support the local community? The Old Bakery is a not-for-profit restaurant, which trains school leavers and adults in technical qualifications. Owned and operated by Lincoln College, every penny of profit goes back into the college to improve the education and training on offer.

Although the team here may still be learning, the food and service at the Old Bakery are both exceptional. Small but refined, the menu here features a selection of creative dishes - at very reasonable prices. On Sundays, you can enjoy two courses for £27.00, or three for £34.00.

Depending on the time of year, you can usually choose between beef or lamb, both of which are served up with a selection of locally sourced veg and a sizeable Yorkshire pudding. There is also always a delicious vegetarian option on offer - and it’s never just a nut roast.

Antlers Restaurant

Situated in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, Antlers Restaurant is located within the newly refurbished White Hart Hotel. Considered to be one of the finest roasts in Lincoln, you can choose from a selection of succulent meat, accompanied by all the classic trimmings.
