Prepare for the Easter season with a performance of JS Bach's St John Passion by Lincoln Cathedral Choir, accompanied by Northern Baroque, in the stunning Nave of Lincoln Cathedral.

The Lincoln Cathedral Choir will perform this sacred masterpiece, the first of Bach's two surviving Passions.

Orchestration will be played on authentic period instruments by Northern Baroque and conducted by Aric Prentice. The Evangelist will be Guy Withers and Christus will be Jacob Phillips.

The St John Passion, written in 1724 and includes recitatives and choruses narrating the Passion of Christ as told in the Gospel of John, ariosos and arias reflecting on the action, and chorales using hymn tunes and texts familiar to a congregation of Bach's contemporaries.

What better venue to experience this Easter piece of music than in one of Europe's finest cathedrals?
