At Whisby Nature Park

Discover the world of wildlife in Whisby Nature Park and enjoy children’s adventure play and a delicious cafe at the Natural World Centre.

The Natural World Centre is set in the heart of the beautiful Whisby Nature Park. The centre has free entry and houses a the delicious Boardwalk Bistro serving local food, an exciting gift shop and incredible children’s adventure play.

Inside The Natural World Centre you will be welcomed by the team who are keen to make your visit a memorable one. The Centre is on two levels, a ground floor and lower ground floor and has been designed to ensure access for all.

Sample light refreshments or delicious home cooked meals using Lincolnshire produce in the stunning lakeside setting of the Boardwalk Bistro overlooking Thorpe Lake or outside by the children’s Playpark.

Browse for unique gifts in their gift shop stocked with fair trade, recycled and natural products.

Otter’s Reach Indoor Adventure is an educational resource for younger visitors aged 3 and upwards (to a maximum height of 1.3m) where they can make the most of their journey through Whisby 
– from its origins as Whisby Pits to the attraction and wildlife haven it is today. The area allows younger visitors to explore and experience the park’s history through imaginative play and includes a gravel plant with hands on features, bullrush stilt posts, spiders web climb, raptors’ nest and more.

Little Darters Wildlife Adventure Area is packed full of exciting tunnels, bridges and sand pits and now includes a new mini assault course which allows older children to enjoy the area and features a ramp and rope ascent, balance rope traverse and climbing net.

Enjoy fabulous walks through the Park, managed by the Wildlife Trust to provide a haven for wildlife. The Wildlife Trust and Natural World Centre offer children’s activities and workshops throughout the year.


The Natural World Centre is fully accessible. There are 10 free blue-badge parking spaces close to the entrance and a drop off space if these are occupied. Mobility scooters and wheelchairs are available for hire and assistance dogs are welcome.

The gift shop, cafe and outside play area are all accessible. The nature reserve path is flat and level (with some slight ramps) with plenty of benches available for rests.  Find out more on the Natural World Centre Access Statement.

Opening Times & Prices

October - March: daily from 10am - 4:30pm

April to September: daily from 10am - 5pm (Café shuts 30mins before Centre closes)

Free admission.

There is a charge of £2 per car between 10am and 4pm.
