A drive-through coronavirus testing facility is to open at Lincolnshire County Showground as part of the Government’s UK-wide drive to increase testing for thousands more NHS and other key workers.

In line with government advice, Lincolnshire Showground is temporarily closed to members of the public.

They are continuing to update their What's On page with the latest information on rescheduled or cancelled events. If you have any queries they are at the end of the phone or email if you need to get in touch.

Coronavirus Testing Centre

A drive-through coronavirus testing facility is to open at Lincolnshire County Showground as part of the Government’s UK-wide drive to increase testing for thousands more NHS and other key workers.

The site sits alongside a rapidly expanding network of testing sites being set up around the UK, and is operating on an appointment-only basis for NHS staff and other key workers. The facility will be piloted for its first few days of operation.

This follows the launch of the Government’s partnership with universities, research institutes and companies to begin rollout of the network of new labs and field testing sites across the UK, with 29 regional testing sites opened to date.

This network will provide thousands more PCR swab tests - which are used to identify if you currently have the virus - for critical key workers, starting with NHS front line staff. This means those who test negative for coronavirus can return to work as soon as possible, and those who test positive are able to recover.

Here is some inspiration for your future visit to the Lincolnshire Showground, once it is fully open.

The Lincolnshire Showground is a major national venue, located on the 200 acre showground just outside the historic city of Lincoln in the East Midlands.

The centre hosts events for ten to tens of thousands of visitors that attract more than 300,000 visitors each year, including business conferences, corporate meetings, weddings, private parties and balls, music concerts, equestrian events and vehicle rallies.

The 'Showground' is the home of the Lincolnshire Show, Countryside Lincs and the eco-friendly EPIC Centre project.
