This summer we’ll be highlighting Lincoln through the lens of our four-legged friends.
Over the coming weeks, we’re taking you through everything Lincoln has to offer for dogs and for you, the owners, the sitters, whoever you are.
We're talking The Dog Friendly Pub Crawl - scores of genuinely welcoming pubs, highlighted by vibe, beer garden quality and biscuit generosity. Not the grudging ‘fine, if it sits quietly in the corner’ kind. The proper bowl-of-water, biscuit-behind-the-bar, pat-from-every-local kind.
Hotel rooms that roll out the welcome mat for cuddly canines. And official Doggy Dates at Lincoln’s 11th century castle – because why shouldn’t your Golden Retriever have a cultural life too?
Visit Lincoln will also be inviting any business that caters for canines to register at a special FREE event – Dogs at the Lawn on Friday, July 17 – and of course any dog lovers and their best friends to pop along to get the low-down on all the services, events, activities and locations that deserve a round of a-paws!
In the meantime we’ll be looking at: a dog-friendly boat trip on the River Witham (very distinguished, one your dog can brag about to his pals); a complete hour-by-hour day out with my dog, and the Great Lincoln Water Bowl Map – we’ve even got Puppy Pilates, adventure paddocks, and so much more!
This series is your guide to Lincoln's walkies, treats, and muddy paw trails. One tail-wagging adventure at a time.
Meet Maggie, my family's rescue pup and best friend – her favourite spot is exploring the Viking Way through Coleby.
Dog owners of Lincoln, we want to hear from you.
Whether your pup has a favourite spot or you know every good local sniff trail – send us a photo, their name, breed, and favourite location.
Think of it as the insider’s guide to Lincoln’s dog-friendly trails, told through the dogs who know it best.
Pack the treats, grab the lead, and come and find out what all the barking is about.
Send your pictures and your favourite spot/activity to admin@lincolnindependent.co.uk marked Dog Friendly Tales.
