We asked local photographer Adam Winfield for his top tips on photographing Lincoln.

1) Lincoln Cathedral

It should come as no surprise, that the most photographed building in Lincoln is the Cathedral. For the best view of the towers, head to Castle Square. This is one of the best spots to see the gothic architecture in all it's glory, and capture some beautiful historic buildings in the forefront of your shot.

2) Stained Glass

Head inside Lincoln Cathedral to reveal more of its impressive architecture. When the sun strikes through the stained glass windows, the Nave is illuminated with dancing colours. You will get the best experience if you visit early in the morning, or during spring/autumn when the sun is particularly low low in the sky.
