If you’re looking for things to do this autumn, we’ve rounded up some of the best pumpkin patches in Lincolnshire.
Pumpkin patches will be popping up across the county from October onwards, so you will have plenty of time to take your pick of the bunch ahead of Halloween.
Whether you prefer to carve them or cook them, picking pumpkins is the perfect way to kick off spooky season - just don’t forget your wellies!
Doddington Hall and Gardens
If you’re hoping to impress your neighbours with an autumnal display, head to Doddington Hall. Their patch boasts thirty varieties of pumpkin, squash and gourd this year, all of which come in an assortment of different colours.
Children will love picking between the different shapes and sizes, whilst you can get inspiration for some delicious seasonal dishes. To limit food waste, Doddington have added some fantastic pumpkin recipes to their website so nothing has to go unused.
To add to the fun, Doddington have also created a spooky walk through the gardens, with some fun facts to find along the way. Once you’ve found your perfect pumpkin, you can spend some more time exploring the Doddington grounds, or warm up in the café with a hot choccy.
The Doddington Pumpkin Patch will be open from 1 -31 October, and Halloween fancy dress is encouraged all month long!
Waddingworth PYO Pumpkins, Redhouse Farm
If you prefer to pick your pumpkin from the field they were grown, Waddingworth is a great option.
The patch itself is free to visit, you just pay for what you pick. Prices here start from just £1, and you can choose from a huge selection. There is a whole host of different colours, sizes and varieties on offer – some weird and some wonderful!
Once you’ve picked your perfect pumpkin, you can stop by The Kettle & Cake. This cosy pop-up café opens during all of the seasonal events at Redhouse Farm. You will find a variety of hot and cold drinks on offer, as well as a selection of homemade savouries and cakes – including some delicious pumpkin muffins.
Don’t forget - the Waddingworth PYO Patch is on a working farm, so it can get pretty muddy. Wheelbarrows are provided, but wellies are your own responsibility!

Bransby Horses
For a great value option, visit Pecan’s Pumpkin Patch at Bransby Horses. Open throughout October, all pumpkins here are £3.00, regardless of size, weight or shape.
As it’s not too big, the pumpkin patch at Bransby is perfect for little ones. Once you’ve taken your pick, you can go and meet Pecan himself. This adorable Shetland pony is one of over 300 horses and donkeys that live at Bransby, all of whom will be more than happy to say hello during your visit.
Fancy dress is encouraged, so you can turn your trip into a real Halloween adventure. There are over 300 acres to explore at Bransby - plenty of space for playing hide and seek, casting spells, and searching for autumnal treasures!
As there is also a coffee shop on-site, you can always relax with a cuppa or enjoy a light lunch before lugging your pumpkins home to carve.
Pecan’s Pumpkin Patch at Bransby Horses will be open from Wednesday - Sunday, throughout October.
Rand Farm Park
If you want to make a real day of it, Rand Farm Park is the place for you. Their annual Pumpkin Festival is back - and this year, it’s bigger than ever.
Perfect for a family day out, the festival is packed with autumnal activities and entertainment. As well as a sizeable pumpkin patch, there will be tractor rides, seasonal food and live entertainment.
In addition to this, festival admission also includes access to all the usual activities and attractions at Rand Farm Park. Once you’ve captured that all-important pumpkin pic, you can meet the animals on the farm, before burning off some energy in the playpark.
To ensure this event is accessible to all ages, there will also be a toddler-friendly version of the festival in the mornings, as well as a spooktacular evening event with a licensed bar and live music.

Coleby PYO Patch
Located at Coleby Lodge Farm, just outside Lincoln, this PYO patch is so much more than just pumpkins! With a Maize Maze, a Coffee Barn and a Spooky Woodland Walk, the whole family can enjoy a day out here.
Lodge Farm grow 10,000 pumpkins and squashes each year, ranging from classic orange to the more unusual white and warty varieties. Whether you choose something picture perfect or something less traditional, all of the pumpkins here at edible.
To get to the pumpkin patch, you will first have to follow a spooky woodland walk through the farm. This ghoul filled walk is sure to get you in the headspace for Halloween – just look out for spiders along the way!
Once you’ve had your pick of the pumpkins, you can stop off at The Coffee Barn for refreshments. Opened last year, this pretty barn will serve a selection of hot drinks and freshly baked cakes. As there is indoor and outdoor seating, you don’t even have to worry about the weather!
The Coleby PYO Patch will be open on the 12 & 13 October, and every day during half-term. Entry to the Maize Maze and the Pumpkin Patch is £6.50 per person, and family tickets are available.
Waterside Shopping Centre
For the first time ever, the Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln will be hosting a pop-up pumpkin patch! Free to visit, this city centre patch will be open on the 26 & 27 October as part of The Big Spook Halloween event.
Less muddy than a traditional patch, this is a great option for those unable to travel out to a rural location. There will be plenty of pumpkins to choose from, and a carving station if you want to get stuck in straight away. Alternatively, you can take your pumpkin away and work on your masterpiece at home.
Lings Farm
Situated in the beautiful Wolds, Lings Farm is one of the most popular pumpkin patches in Lincolnshire. Perfect for those looking for an authentic picking experience, all of the pumpkins here are grown on-site.
The patch here is huge and if you’re after something a bit different, you won’t be disappointed! Lings have all sorts of colours and varieties on offer, from traditional pumpkins to gorgeous gourds and warty wonders.
Fill up your wheelbarrow before tackling the spooky woodland walk around the farmland. There are acres to explore, and you can enjoy some incredible views of the Lincolnshire Wolds along the way.
Ling’s Farm PYO Patch will be open on 12 &13 October, and everyday throughout half-term.
Bell’s Pumpkin Patch
If you take your pumpkin picking seriously, Bell’s Pumpkin Patch is a must-visit. Thought to be the largest pumpkin patch in Lincolnshire, Bell’s grow over a million pumpkins each year.
There are over 300 varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squash to choose from, in a whole host of different colours and patterns. If you’re not great at decision making, visit Bell’s Pumpkin Market before you start to get some display inspiration. They also have a variety of recipe cards if you want to really tailor your pick.
With pumpkin cannons, carving tents and photo stations, Bell’s are really taking pumpkin picking to the next level. If you’re keen to make a day of it, there will be a variety of other activities and entertainment to enjoy alongside the patch, from face painting to foodie stalls.
