A friendly welcome

Take a ride on Tour Lincoln, the open-top city sightseeing bus with live commentary, and experience Lincoln for yourself.

Live commentary brings Lincoln’s history to life on the hop-on hop-off bus tour; the perfect way to experience the city. Your two-day ticket provides unlimited access over two days* - you can hop-on and -off at any of the 8 stops as many times as you like.

Tickets can be purchased from this page, at the Visitor Information Centre on Castle Hill or on the bus itself.  The first tour leaves Lincoln Cathedral at 10:30am and the last leaves at 3:30pm. Each tour lasts just under one hour.

You can take the kids for free (u16s free with a paying adult) and there is a discount for students. Tours run on weekends, bank holidays and Lincolnshire school holidays during April and May, daily from June to September and weekends during October.

The tour bus is accessible with a low floor and space for wheelchairs on the bottom deck.

The full tour lasts just under one hour and stops include:

  • Lincoln Cathedral
  • Northgate
  • Newport Arch
  • Lincoln Castle
  • Museum of Lincolnshire Life
  • Brayford Waterfront (Brayford Wharf North, moved to Newland in case of an event on the Brayford)
  • High Street (St. Swithin's Square)
  • Cultural Quarter (Silver Street).

Download the timetable and tour bus route for details. Please note there are some dates when events are taking place that the route may be subject to change.

Please note that the 2016 route has changed due to works on the Lincoln Transport Hub: the route now follows St Marks Street and Tentecroft Street rather than St Mary's Street.

Please note that Monday - Friday during September 2016 the route will change due to roadworks on Bailgate: the bus will miss the Westgate stop and the section passing Lincoln Castle - it will turn right from Rasen Lane into Burton Road.
