A charity 26-mile run or walk following the public footpaths and bridleways along the Spires & Steeples Arts & Heritage Trail from Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter to Sleaford.

Challenge yourself to complete the the Spires & Steeples Arts & Heritage Trail whilst taking in the beautiful artworks, church architecture and the variety that is the Lincolnshire countryside.

The name refers to the spires of the churches being the landmarks to which participants make their way and to the rural sport of steeple chasing.

  • Spires & Steeples Challenge 26: The trail follows the Spires & Steeples Arts and Heritage route from Westgate Water Tower, in Lincoln, to The National Centre for Craft & Design, in Sleaford, covering 26 miles.
  • Spires & Steeples Challenge 13: The half route of 13 miles starts at the Metheringham Playing Fields and finishes at The National Centre for Craft & Design in Sleaford.

All finishers will receive a memento of the challenge. There are 5 checkpoints along the route all with water stations and toilet facilities. The route is comprehensively signed with marshals located at strategic points.
