Lincoln Castle's Victorian Prison will come to life with tales from the past during October half-term.

Meet the unsavoury characters from inside the Victorian Prison this October half term, the vile Victorians will be sure to give you a fright. Hear ghastly ghost stories and tales of witch trials from the Victorian undertakers themselves.

The Spooky Prison is a fun and family-friendly introduction into the horrible history of the Victorian Era. Children can create their own creepy characters too and take home an origami bat or pipe cleaner spider.

Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, Lincoln Castle has dominated the Lincoln skyline for almost one thousand years.  During your visit you can walk the Medieval Walls for stunning views of Lincoln Cathedral and across the city; an audio tour will guide you through the castle's history.

Inside the Castle walls is the Victorian prison giving an insight into crime and punishment in the Lincoln of the past. Inside the prison you will find the subterranean Magna Carta vault, housing one of only four surviving original copies of Magna Carta, and a small cinema screen to tell you its important story.
