Join in with an entire weekend of celebratory events for the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force across Lincoln including 1940s Weekend, aviation displays, and fireworks.

1940s Weekend

Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th August, 10am - 5pm each day
The Strait, Steep Hill, Castle Hill, Bailgate, St. Paul in the Bail, Minster Yard, FREE

Celebrate the spirit of 1940s Britain from The Strait to Bailgate, with two days of period activities and displays, vintage market stalls, entertainment, and reenactors.

There will be flypasts from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight too: the Lancaster, Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane are all confirmed to make an appearance over the weekend. Times to be announced.

Vintage Village

Saturday 11th - Sunday 12th August, 10am - 5pm each day
The Stokes Lawn, FREE

Step back in time for two days of vintage vehicles, children’s entertainment, vintage rides and games at The Stokes Lawn – perfect for a families, children, and picnics.

Lincs FM Stage

Saturday 11th - Sunday 12th August, 10am - 5pm each day
City Square, FREE

Big bands, solo performers and militrary choirs will join Lincs FM for the day to perform on their stage at City Square. Performance line up to be announced soon. If you are interested in performing at this event, please get in touch with the Lincoln BIG events team via email or call 01522 842702.

Aviation & Heritage Displays

Saturday 11th - Sunday 12th August, 10am - 5pm each day
St. Marks Shopping Centre & South High Street, FREE

Discover more about aviation and heritage in Lincoln, have a selfie in a model spitfire, and get involved in the RAF100 celebrations on South High Street and St. Marks Shopping Centre during the weekend. See displays from RAF bases, charities and societies. 

Salute to the 40s

Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th August, 10am - 4pm each day
International Bomber Command Centre, FREE

Join the IBCC for a weekend of fantastic forties activities including live music performances, dance demonstrations, wartime cookery demonstrations, vehicle displays and much. There's fun for all the family and prizes for the best dressed.

Fire Engines & RAF

Saturday 11th - Sunday 12th August, 10am - 5pm each day
Brayford Waterfront, FREE

Explore the Vintage and Modern Fire Engine display at Brayford Waterfront during the weekend, and stay into the evening on Saturday for the Fireworks spectacular. 

The Glenn Miller Orchestra

Saturday 11th August, gates open at 5:20pm
Lincoln Castle - Tickets: £26.95

An evening of 1940s big band music in Lincoln Castle inspired by Lincoln 1940s Weekend.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra has maintained the exact line-up on stage devised by Glenn, consisting of the leader, five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones and three rhythm plus a male and female vocalist. Buy your tickets online.

1940s Ball

Dance the night away in the newly extended Cathedral Ballroom and al fresco terrace at DoubleTree by Hilton on Brayford Waterforont. You can be sure of a fantastic evening of food, drink and entertainment, the perfect ending to the first day of the RAF100 Weekend. Watch in awe as skies light up, ending the first day of the festival perfectly with a spectacular fireworks display. Bring the family and dine on the Brayford before the show - there is a selection of restaurants along the waterfront, or pick up a bite to eat from our mini pop-up street food market.

Join RAF Veterans on Lincoln High Street for tea and cake, at our street party to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the RAF. Organised by RAFA and the Healthy High Streets Group.
