Step inside the Victorian Prison and meet some unsavoury criminals from Victorian Lincoln.

Discover the characters and hear their stories of those held at Lincoln Castle, investigate the crimes they are charged with and find out their fates.

Our Victorian Judge needs your assistance this week! Explore the Prison to locate the prisoners, discover more about them and take your evidence to the Judge. Are our prisoners Guilty or Not Guilty?

Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, Lincoln Castle has dominated the Lincoln skyline for almost one thousand years.  During your visit you can walk the Medieval Walls for stunning views of Lincoln Cathedral and across the city; an audio tour will guide your through the castle's history.

Inside the Castle walls is the Victorian prison giving an insight into crime and punishment in the Lincoln of the past. Inside the prison you will find the subterranean Magna Carta vault, housing one of only four surviving original copies of Magna Carta, and a small cinema screen to tell you its important story.
