Start the countdown to Christmas at the annual fun-packed Christmas Lights Switch On at St Marks Shopping Centre, Lincoln High Street, and Waterside Shopping Centre.
Join in the excitement of the Christmas calendar when Lincoln gets its magic festive feel with the official switch on of the decoarative lights throughout the city.
Free Christmas Parking and Late Night Christmas Shopping
Parking is free for the evening making it easy to come into the city for the switch on. You can park at St Marks Shopping Centre for free from 4pm (no need to display anything), or City of Lincoln Council car parks across the city from 4pm when using the PayByPhone app. Lincoln Central Car Park is also free to park in from 4pm - use the normal ticket machines and exit for free.
Plus make the most of the trip to Lincoln with many shops across the city centre staying open late til 8pm for Christmas shopping (if you do plan to visit a particular shop please contact the business to check their opening times as they are subject to change).

St Marks Shopping Centre
Live entertainment will kick off at St Marks Shopping Centre, at 4:45pm with performances from tribute act Ariana Grande, Unplugged Live winner Charlie Russell, characters from Lincoln Drill Hall’s Peter Pan pantomime and much, much more.
The switch on of the lights at the shopping centre will take place at 6:30pm.
City Square will be full of entertainment too, providing a quieter space to enjoy the switch on near the High Street with less of the crowds. Children's rides, clowns, choirs, and food and drink stalls will entertain from 5pm.
Lincoln High Street will be full of festivities for the switch on of the main city centre lights with entertainment from 5:30pm. Linc FM's Eddie Shaw will present the evening starting with music from The Salvation Army Band.
At 6:40pm the Mayor of Lincoln and Civic Party will process from the Guildhall with New Theatre Royal panto stars Amelia Lilly, Barney Harwood, Chris Johnson to switch on the lights at 7pm.
Waterside Shopping Centre
The Waterside Shopping Centre's stage will be providing entertanment presented by Linc FM's Rob Hammond from 6pm for the final lights switch on of the night. There will be appearances from the stars of all three of Lincoln's main Christmas theatre productions, an interview with Santa, and live music through the evening.
The big lights switch on across the shopping centre will be at 7:45pm followed by a chance to meet the panto stars and get autographs.
