Celebrate the spirit of 1940s Britain in Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter with a day of period and vintage activities and displays.

Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter will be full of atmosphere on this summery Saturday Lincoln's biggest 1940s celebration yet. You can expect live music, dance performances and entertainment throughout the day on The Strait, Castle Hill and St. Paul in the Bail. Continue dancing through to the evening at the 1940s Ball at County Assembly Rooms.

1940s Day
The Strait, Castle Hill, Minster Yard & Bailgate

Experience Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter as it goes back in time to celebrate the 1940s. Expanding from The Strait through to the Bailgate, you'll find vintage displays, live entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy.

Traders will be lining Castle Hill and The Strait, offering a unique shopping experience, selling antiques, clothing, confectionary and artwork with a vintage theme. Charities will be joining the stall holders, raising money and awareness for the Royal Air Forces and the Armed Forces community.

A fantastic line up of live entertainment will feature the George Formby impersonator Colin Bourdiec, plus Heather Marie, Lancashire Belle, Marlaina Rube. Get on your 1940s dancing shoes and join in with 52nd Street Jump at St. Paul in the Bail - the event's dance arena and food court.

A Battle of Britain flypast is also expected from the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane at 2.30pm.

1940s Ball
County Assembly Rooms, from 5pm (doors open at 3pm)

Continue the celebration into the evening and join the 1940s style ball at County Assembly Rooms. Enjoy a high tea and a three course meal before joining the dance floor in the beautiful 18th Century Ballroom.

Tickets are £16.50 each (or £100 per group of 10) and are available to pre-book online, by calling the County Assembly Rooms box office on 01522 520098 or emailing info@countyassemblyrooms.co.uk.

1940s Cream Tea
Lady Rose's Tea Room, 5pm

Lady Rose's Edwardian Tea Room will be the only place going forward in time - from the 20s to the 40s. Period music will be played through the day followed by a special Cream Tea at 5pm.

Live entertainment from Captain Gearing will accompany the tea, singing radio mic songs from the era, for £18 per person. Places must be booked in advance by calling 01522 524803.

Vintage Tea Party
Coffee Bobbins, The Strait, 5:30pm

Enjoy more entertainment from the Lancashire Belle as she sings through to the evening at local independent coffee shop Coffee Bobbins on The Strait, from 5.30pm.

Coffee Bobbins' decor is inspired by vintage sewing with treadle sewing machines as tables and lots of vintage sewing machines on display. Tickets are £16.50 each and include a themed afternoon tea with a delicious selection of 1940s themed cakes plus refreshments and live entertainment. Book your tickets in advance by calling 01522 719546.
