Gainsborough Heritage Trail

Go on a journey of discovery, walking through time around Gainsborough following the Heritage Walking Trail, taking in the scenery and history along the way.

Follow the 90-minute self-led walking trail around Gainsborough to uncover the history and heritage within the Lincolnshire market town.

Whether you are local or visiting Gainsborough from afar, this circular heritage walk gives an introduction to the rich and varied history that dates back to the 15th century.

Beginning at the Gainsborough Heritage Centre, you will be led past Lincolnshire landmarks such as the Old Nick Theatre, Marshall's Yard, Old Country Court House, Gainsborough Old Hall, and much more.

There are plenty of places to stop off on the way to refuel, rest and enjoy local, Lincolnshire food and drink in Gainsborough. Throughout the walk, you will never be more than 10-minutes from shops and cafés, and there are also several picnic spots to enjoy too. Public toilets are available at the centre of the walk, in the Roseway car park (DN 21 2HP).

Hard copies of the booklet are available at Gainsborough Library, Lincoln Central Library and the Lincoln Visitor Information Centre.
