Former Bracebridge Heath Works

Former site of Robey & Co's private airfield during WW1 and A. V. Roe's aircraft repair factory in WW2.

Adjacent to the A15 south of Lincoln, Bracebridge Heath airfield started its aviation history in 1916 as Robey & Co. Ltd.’s private airfield, before becoming No 4 Aircraft Acceptance Park.

During World War II A.V. Roe Company established an aircraft repair factory at the site and its history continued through the jet era; when the Avro 707 and 707C prototypes were assembled there and towed along the A15 for flight testing at RAF Waddington.
