A cobbled street that leads from Lincoln Castle into the heart of the Cathedral Quarter.
Castle Hill is seen as the centre of Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter: a five-way junction between Steep Hill, Bailgate, Exchequergate, Lincoln Castle, and Drury Lane.
This street is host to many events through the year, including regular Farmers' Markets (3rd Saturday of each month), Artists' Markets (1st Saturday of the month from March - December) and Antiques Markets (3rd Sunday of the month from March - September).
It was famously the location of the 1217 Battle of Lincoln Fair as the French forces lay seige to Lincoln Castle. The army was eventually pushed back to Exchequrgate, down Steep Hill and out of the city to the south.
