A home-from-home delight in a beautifully restored detached house originally dating from 1740 in a central village location close to Lincoln.
Two guest rooms are available: the "George" suite is a king room, whilst "Victoria" is a twin and can be made into a superking. Both rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities.
The restoration of Mere Cottage was completed in 2012 - so expect modern convenience within a historical setting. Period details can be seen throughout: the Georgian plasterwork in the breakfast room is a delight with the sunlight streaming in from the large well stocked garden.
At Mere Cottage there is a secure double stone garage available for bikers and a electric car charging station available for guests if needed.
For visitors to Lincoln Cathedral, Paul, one of the owners, is a stone carver at the cathedral and has restored stonework throughout the cathedral for the last 15 years. He has a vast range of little-known knowledge about the building, and he loves a chat!
