Enjoy a holiday in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, less than half an hour's drive from historic Lincoln, and stay in these beautifully restored, award-winning 18th century stables.
The two units, the Hayloft and Bothy, have impressive baths and cosy ‘box beds’. The spacious open plan Hayloft sleeps 4 and the ground floor cosy Bothy, also ideal for those with limited mobility, sleeps 3. Both are warm and welcoming and provide the perfect romantic retreat all year round with wood-burning stoves, exposed beams and lime-washed walls to help create that cosy warm feel. And now your dog can enjoy a break with you when you book the Bothy.
Your welcome includes a lovely hamper - home-made fruit loaf and jam as well as chocolates, bread, cereal and a bottle of Lincolnshire wine. Other goodies include locally-produced ostrich sausages, milk, butter and local organic eggs plus a trug of fresh vegetables.
The Manor House Stables also runs one-day courses - from baking bread or making chocolates to learning to crochet or creating your own natural beauty products. All courses include a home-made lunch with wine, all your recipes and a lot of fun! A maximum of 4 to 5 participants means that all have time to create something special to take home. These courses can be attended by both accommodation guests and by those in the local community, but new is the offer of special half-day courses for accommodation guests only - 'Courses Just for Two' booked to coincide with your stay.
Also on-site is a small exhibition about the role of the Women's Land Army in Lincolnshire with information about what domestic life was like during the war. This small exhibition coincides with the launch of the new range of cookery courses based on the theme 'Victory in the Kitchen and Garden'
The museum is open to visitors by appointment and on special events. It is also open to staying guests and those on day courses. For more information, see the Manor House Stables website.
