NEW Pumpkin Trail hailed success for Uphill Lincoln

Uphill Lincoln is still busy with families doing the new Pumpkin Trail – from The Strait to Newport Arch children have been hunting out 44 pumpkins hiding in shop windows.

Over 3,500 Pumpkin Trail leaflets were printed – and it’s proved as popular as the other trails that have taken place in the past.

The idea for the free trail came from the Bailgate Guild, The Little Pottery Studio, Visit Lincoln and Lincoln BIG. It’s been a huge success and has encouraged more families to enjoy Uphill Lincoln during their Autumn Half Term break. The Trail continues until Sunday 4 November.

Let’s Talk 2019 - Getting ready for English Tourism Week

That’s right, we’re talking 2019 already! Save this date in the diary 30th March – 7 April 2019 because it’s English Tourism Week. It’s the one time every year that a stoplight is shone on the multi-billion pound tourism sector across England.

As well as highlighting the economic impact of the sector, VisitEngland also runs a consumer campaign.

The popular ‘Discover Lincolnshire Weekend’ event will also take place during English Tourism Week, so please work with us to raise awareness of Lincoln and Lincolnshire’s local tourism offer by planning an event (remember to tell us about it, so we can help promote it), offering a visitor perk and taking a look at the #EnglishTourismWeek19 toolkit.

Could you have a ‘Red Wheel’ Plaque for Transport Heritage?

If you know of a site in Lincolnshire which has a significant link to transport heritage it could be worthy of a new ‘Red Wheel’ plaque (similar to the Blue Plaque scheme).

The Transport Trust is looking for new sites for the scheme, which could form part of a trial for visitors and residents.

All ideas are welcome, just send a quick email with your suggestion to the Transport Trust - brianthecamel39@gmail.com
