The cycle specialists hope to play their part in encouraging more people to get on their bikes with the opening of a retail unit within Lincoln’s brand new £30million Transport Hub scheme at the train station. Giant Lincoln’s city centre store will offer bike hire and cycle services as well as provide a range of bikes for sale.
Like its sister store on the Doddington Hall estate, the new retail unit will offer cyclists expert advice and products as well as the opportunity to test ride bicycles. Both stores work in partnership with leading bicycle brand Giant; offering an extensive range of road, mountain and hybrid bikes as well as 26 different electric bikes that are pedal assisted.
Commuters, shoppers and visitors alike can stop by at Giant Lincoln Station, learn more about cycling and the bikes available as well as find out more about cycling locally. And as it’s right in the centre of town, commuters can arrange to drop their bikes off for a service, walk into work and then pick their bike up at the end of the day.
Giant Lincoln pride themselves on being bike experts and provide help in choosing the right bike or cycling gear whether cyclists are total beginners or experienced bikers competing in off-road adventure races or even triathlons.
Mark Hollingworth, General Manager, said “Cycling is for everybody; whatever their abilities. When we first opened the store at Doddington, we wanted it to be a social hub; a place where people could come along, find out about cycling and get involved. We organise Sunday Rides and are regularly joined by 50 cyclists, and we also have a Beginners Group for people who are just getting into cycling. We hope that people will visit Giant Lincoln Station and will like the idea of hiring a bike and giving it a go.”
The new Giant Lincoln Station, at Lincoln’s new city centre transport hub on St Mary’s Street, is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
